Thanks for the support. And as to being in the same alliance as my guild... Since this seems to be the start of a PR war I'll post the same responce to EASY as i did in the other forum they posted this.
Perhaps claiming that a challenge coming 30 seconds late and refusing to accept it and instead going for a DQ instead of playing is lame? Perhaps it also violates the good sportsmanship clauses added as well. I suppose Anet will decide.
And to all the euros about to flame my guild. EASY decided on fallback after we gave them two different days and reasonable times for them to use. THey also suggested a time on sunday to play well afterthe deadline for reporting matches so I wonder if maybe this was their intent the whole time...
Oddly, EASY will now resort to all out lies. You know quite well your guild suggested the fallback time. It was, as you know now, not at all conveiniant for my guild as we had core members speeding home from work in order to make the game you are trying to scam us out of.

Ghostly Zeroes [zEn] 2-1 Illusioned Redemption [Ri]
[zEn] were struggling to find 8 roster players, being without 2 of our 3 monks, so I had to monk for the first time seriously in 18 months, which was amusing. First match [zEn] won pretty comfortably although [Ri] held out in base until VOD. Second match was one of those back and forward games you get at this sort of level - one team wipes in the enemy base, collapses back, rezzes, wipes the enemy out and so on and so forth. [Ri] eventually won in VOD. Third match [zEn] won in about 14 minutes. Was GGs and good fun

Save The Dolyaks 0 - 2 Clan Detained
We made the same mistakes in both matches, with absolutely terrible co-ordination on splits and slow rotating of players. dT's split build capitalized on that inefficiency and we lost. GG to dT, well played games by them.

This is definitely not the argument line you'd want to use. If you bring up the bad sportsmanship section of the Appendix, they will come right back with citations. Specifically this one:
Quote:
ArenaNet reserves the right to disqualify guilds if any guild member engages in unsportsmanlike conduct, interferes with or disrupts the timely play of any player or guild...
|
(http://www.guildwars.com/competitive...Appendices.pdf)
Since not showing up on time is, per definition, disrupting the timely play the last thing you want to do is bring this up. At the very least, you'll get yourself charged with bad sportsmanship too. That's no fun for anyone. You'd be much better off playing up the "lame" factor. Make sure to mention several times how you were only 30 seconds late and how much you really want to play. That and hope Mike isn't a formalist.

You guys might be flaming EaSy but your all forgetting 1 thing.
Your talking about middle in the night. They woke up early, it's in the middle of the day for the other guild. They already got 20 minutes extra to prepare while they could prepare the whole time.
EaSy might have been really grumpy because of the RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOed up time, then the other guild shows up to late. Then i give them the fullest support i can give to them.
GG easy in my opinion your right in whatever you did. If you get a warning from ANet then anet is favoring AMERICA to win this tournament to save them some shipping costs for the videocards.

I must say I'm surprised I see this attitude at 2 guilds both in top 100. If what Finn says it's true, then there's no reason to support this all "waking up in the midnight to play the matches"
So until someone comes with real evidence, I don't see any point in this discusion.RIP says they coulden't play at the fallback time, so they arrived late, and EaSy says they woke up to play, and RIPs team wasn't ready. Either way, I also consider it lame to win a game just because after 20 mins they didn't show up.This just proves than you're more interested in the score, and not the game.
A nother thing that is wird is that a guild would prefer to wake up in the middle of the night, instead of playing at a rezonable hour
It has nothing to do with Europe and US, I'm also from Europe, but I don't support this kind of attitude. The tournament was created for the all the gvg players, that enjoy to play, not for some won unrated games.Good luck in the future.

We had our first game versus an American team Guildaholics Anonymous (we're a Euro guild). They were very friendly and they were decent enough to start at 2 am Sunday morning instead of 3 am as per the fallback time.
We had two great games against them and there even seems to be a little friendship blossoming between our guild leaders ^^
The score was Ice Cold Empire 2 - 0 Guildaholics Anonymous
We got beat by Girl Camp in our first round but, considering they have just shot up the rankings recently, its no bad thing
Its been a good tourney so far, but I think they should have seperated the tournement by location. If we get a mid-week fall back date vs another US team we will struggle to get four never mind eight players.
